RECAMFT Response to COVID-19

Due to ongoing concerns and in support of efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, RECAMFT will continue to hold all chapter events virtually through Aug. 31, 2022. Keep an eye on our events page for updates throughout the year.  We encourage you to stay connected via the ListServ and continue to share helpful information with our community.

Please find RECAMFT's Diversity Statement for Presenters here

RECAMFT Members - VERY IMPORTANT - you must use the same email you joined with when signing up for events.
Using a different email will cause the system to not recognize you are a member, and other issues. Thank you!

    Course Description

This is the recorded version of this training.

    4. Demonstrate the use of SOAP and other note templates

    5. Identify legal and ethical issues related to altering notes or writing late notes

    CEs

Another recorded 3-CE Law & Ethics training on "What Should Be in Your Notes -- But Probably Isn't" will be available, also taught by Barbara Griswold. Please register for that separately at this link.

    Course Description

This is the recorded version of this training.

A treatment plan can protect both you and your clients, ensuring all parties have a clear understanding of the goals and progress being made. This webinar will give you the tools to help you write a brief treatment plan that fulfills the expectations of insurance and other oversight agencies.

    Topics include:

    • How treatment plans are different than progress notes
    • The bare essentials of a treatment plan
    • How to choose goals — and which goals to avoid
    • How objectives differ from goals
    • How to choose and describe interventions
    • How to update plans - and how often you should
    • How Medical Necessity Criteria of health plans affect goals
Sample treatment plans will be provided to participants.

    Learning Objectives

    1. Identify the four main components of a good treatment plan
    2. Define the difference between treatment goals and objectives
    3. Choose goals that are related to the diagnosis and medically necessary, so that they meet with insurance plan approval
    4. Identify the biggest mistake therapists make when documenting planned interventions
    5. Define "S.M.A.R.T." goals, and "The Golden Thread" of documentation
